For those who require a mortgage to assist
with their purchase there are many options
available. We can offer you the services of
our mortgage adviser to help arrive at your
decision about which option to choose. Once
again this aspect of the transaction is designed
to suit your own particular need.
Generally, it is possible to borrow up to
80% of the purchase price from one of the
many Spanish banks that offer mortgages, or
you may prefer to re-mortgage your property
in the United Kingdom. It may also be possible
to arrange a loan up to 100% of the purchase,
subject to additional security.
Any mortgage from a Spanish bank will use
your Spanish property as security and will
not in any way affect your UK property.
THE BUYING PROCEDURE
The normal procedure, after locating the
property that you wish to purchase, is to determine
the full price of the property along with details
of what taxes etc. are included, if any, in
the purchase price. Once this has been explained
to your satisfaction we will then determine
that you are fully aware of exactly what you
are purchasing and the total costs involved.
If you are happy to
proceed, a contract will be drawn up and you
will be required to pay a small deposit, which
fixes the price and takes the property off
the market. In order to purchase in Spain
you will need a Spanish bank account, we will
of course help you to open one. During your
visit to a lawyer the relevant time scales
involved will be fully explained to you
